I'd say not to reset while vehicle is in motion. That was sure a no no with 944 Porsche. Strip odometer gears. Least it did on mine and others I'd heard of. Repair shop wouldn't sale me the .75 cent gear. Take it out, and to the shop. 15 min. and $125 they hand it back to me.
And a few years later,(I wasn't thinking) and hit the reset on 92 Isuzu trooper while in motion. Not as bad though, work a couple miles and stop, couple and stop. Never had this one repaired though.
