Dave,
I built my bench from timber offcuts from a domestic building site. Worked great as I had complete control over what I built, how big, how many shelves and doors etc.
I made the overhead shelving from timber as well, sizing to suit requirements of plastic drawers,
oil containers and other bits I need to accommodate.
I've added to the shelving over the years as I've needed it, but the bench has remained 'as-built' except for the addition of some patina. Definitely no bling involved, but to my eye, it all looks purpose-built and functional. I estapol'd it all to keep it '
oil-proof'....and it still looks good (well I think so).
Cheers,
Glen
Edit....total cost would have been less than a slab of Pale Ale (am I talking your language?)
