Default safety wire

Stainless wire is the standard and all is good. This other wire you speak of, is stronger, less reactive, and made for the same purpose but in marine applications? It should be fine; if tensile strength, malleability, and all are suitable of course. I still haven't used up the last can of stainless safety wire I bought yet. Do yourself a favor and buy safety wire twisting pliers. Even the ones sold by Harbor freight for $15 work fine for wheel spinners. Once you start with the safety wire, everything is a candidate: header bolts, brake caliper bolts, you get the picture. If you need to drill bolt heads, get cobalt drill bits.
