Got the pliers--handy little tool
Yes the Monel is aprox.048 in dia. Spent several years cruising, and have an anchor laying at the bottom of a bay in Mexico due to the s/s wire failing--long story--switched to Monel and never had a problem. I know there isn't much problem with reaction on wheels--but I do know that Monel is also used in some applications in the aviation industry as well as marine

Unless I hear different I will probably use Monel on my wheels spinners--I have about 50' left on a roll . It is more expensive than s/s
