You can reproduce the lope from engine to engine, as it's a function of the camshaft. You can also reproduce how *hard* an engine hits as it's a function of exhaust and compression ratio.
However, you can't reproduce the same tone because a big inch motor sounds completely different than a small inch motor. A 347 and a 427 are 80 cubic inches apart and you can tell the difference from that.
