I'm running a GM 140 amp 10SI on my KC Pond 482 side-oiler. I had a one wire but the voltage output was significantly less than a properly wired 3 wire setup. It actually caused my engine cooling fan to run quite a bit slower (a bad thing). Luckily my Powermaster one wire alternator was easily converted to a 3 wire. I would never run a one wire again.
