You basically sum it up. Air-cooled quality better. New cars are faster and better drivers for daily transportation. And the newer cars such as the 996's and 997's were quality nightmares. Engine fires in the '14 GT3 didn't help either.

The rest of us just advocate for a return to a smaller, less gizmos, noisier and more soul-full driving of the early cars. You know, REAL (1998 or earlier) Porsche's.

Calling most Porsche enthusiasts wrong is certainly ONE person's opinion not widely held at least here in the USA.
