Default Which Shifter Kit

I have a CR Toploader on my Kirkham with the long tail-shaft housing and the three mounting lugs halfway along. This is a picture from the David Kee website:

It uses a Hurst Competition Plus shifter and a modified Hurst 8382 mounting plate and I've never been happy with the position of the lever. Although it comes up in the centre of the hole in the tunnel, the lever is too upright, which means I'm having to pull my arm too far back to be really comfortable.. It also has a habit of jumping out of 3rd gear on the overrun, which I suspected was due to the rubber boot, but I've just discovered that there isn't sufficient throw on the 3rd gear lever on the Hurst shifter to allow it to fully engage.

Can anyone tell me which combination of parts I need to mount the lever in the right place and allow full movement of the selector levers?

Thanks,
Paul
