Unhappy Really Strange Rotor Wear with PBR Calipers

First of all my car has never stopped as a car of this caliber should, without putting heavy boot to it. (A 440-6 Pack Cuda with drum rears would stop faster!)
Several months ago I finally needed to replace the rear pads and turn the rotors after a spirited day at Sonoma Raceway. After doing so, and bedding the pads properly, I drove to Roger Kraus' shop in Castro Valley for much needed rubber. I then discovered that the outer right-rear pad was not contacting the whole rotor surface - just the outer circumference and turning it blue. I checked the mounting hardware etc, and all looks as it should.
Before I throw money at it, what do you think is the problem? (Besides having PBR calipers on this thing in the first place).
