I certainly wouldn't be able to recreate that build for $10k. When blocks are going for $4-5k just by themselves, I would expect this to be a collection of parts that have been sitting on the shelf....including the Venolia pistons which are very "old-school".....

I am pretty leery of factory 427 rotating parts because they have probably been abused for 40-45 years. I would not reuse factory rods and I'm really not a big fan of the factory $ crank unless they are specifically asked for by the customer.

The cam isn't small at all. It would be pretty aggressive with a 427. I wouldn't go any bigger and would probably favor something a little smaller in duration. You don't want to pair a street car with street gears with a cam that won't play nicely.

I echo the thoughts of some of the others.....it may be a decent deal, but I would absolutely take it apart and go completely through it, changing a few parts for the sake of strength/longevity.
