The test was done at a local garage who must be qualified to do these tests. So I'm wondering if Regency inspection center will also do some sort of test emission wise. I regular do training at the RAA and the emissions have to be halfed about every ten years. That's why eventually only hybrids will pass emissions. The latest Mazda six even has an alternator that only charges when It's decelerating and it charges up a massive capacitor to run the electrics. The alternator charges up to 25 volts. So even when you disconnect the battery, things are still live. All to save a tiny bit of fuel and meet emissions.
