In the OP, he says he has $10K. That's his budget
AFAIK. And based on that, I think he should buy a crate engine based on a 390 FE. He wants an FE and that's the FE he can afford. Forget about the 385, you don't want it.
The alloy 482 is wishful thinking and shouldn't really be discussed, unless this thread is a dream engine thread. And if that's what we're talking about, dreams, then I say get an alloy Cammer from Pond.
