Ganassi Racing spent two years running the engine/trans package in Daytona Prototype class. This car is a race car. Anyone with eighty thousand dollars can buy a Z06 or BMW M4 and identify with the GT class. How many will get a GT 40, even those with big bucks? These cars should not be in the same class. I also understand the FIA penalized the Corvettes two weeks before the 24 Hours of LeMans.
I hear you, but what class would you suggest the FIA put them in?
Also, Ford is pre qualifying perspective FGT buyers to ensure that they will be driven, hopefully with track time. Yup, it's an awesome track car but it's doing just what Ford hoped for...it's drawing attention.
