Don't be concerned about the high volume pump. Most of my engines get them.
As for installation, there is a dimension that you have to hold, it will be in the instruction booklet for your distributor. Do not be concerned about lining up the hole in the gear with the hole in the shaft. Chances are that it will not be in the correct spot when you do that. Turn the hole in the gear 90 degrees to the hole in the shaft, press it on until the dimension is correct, then drill a new hole in the shaft and press in the roll pin.
