This one is a little on the exotic side but should allow for at least 700 hp on pump gas. It may be slightly off-topic for the Club Cobra forum as it's going in a '57 Ford Fairlane, but I could see this as a build that would appeal to some CC'ers.
Foundation is a Dart aluminum 351W block, 2.750" mains, 4.155" bore, 9.500" deck height. Bored/honed with torque plates, mains align honed, decks squared up.
The rotating assembly consists of a superlight Scat 4.250" crankshaft, Callies 6.250" rods, and a set of custom Diamond pistons. The pistons have had the skirts coated and run a .043/.043/3mm ring pack.
Camshaft is a custom solid roller from Comp, small base circle (driver's side rods still needed to be clearanced slightly to have adequate clearance), 266/275 @ .050", 108 LSA, with .700" lift. It was degreed and set up on a 104 ICL.
At this point in time, the heads and intake are still being ported. The heads are 225cc CHI 3V heads, but will be opened up to about 260cc and will end up flowing about 380 cfm. The intake is a CHI 3V single plane intake and will be topped off with a Quick Fuel BDQ-1050 carburetor.
Front end consists of a Cloyes billet timing set, along with a new timing cover, an ATI harmonic balancer. Pumping the
oil is a HV pump along with a Moroso pump pickup.
We had to use a Moroso pan that's made for the front and rear 4 bolt main caps. It has billet ends and is clearanced in all the right spots to clear the long stroke.
Will be posting more pics as parts arrive. Hope to have the top end here shortly.
