quick update, the engine/trans and new clutch are all in and we're driving again, so far so good. The pedal is nice a bit lighter, the shift is certainly much better.
Also had all the heat shields and headers re-coated and all back together, my extra heat shield over the cat has made a huge difference to under-bonnet temps, whereas before the master cylinder area (directly over the cat) has getting hugely hot, the cylinders are now barely warm to the touch after driving.
Also changed springs, went from 425lb->550 in the back and 375->425 in the front. The rear was way to soft before with far to much squat. Will see how this goes at Wakefield, initial impressions are that it is actually more comfortable (?) with the stiffer rear, although traction is reduced. Hopefully this will help reduce the low-speed understeer that I was getting on the track.
Also added the new Granatelli plug leads and kevlar protection boots for them.
In a most important update, I now have cup holders too.
Also booked in to get a tonneau cover made next week.
