Greetings all.
I'm a new member who viewed the car this summer. It is still in the hands of the original owner's widow who brought it to a local restaurant near me for a small show given annually by the car enthusiast owner.
I was seated on the patio when CSX3209 rumbled in, it sounds like a proper race car. Since I don't have the $$ for a real Cobra I've been contemplating a replica so I mentioned to my wife that this was something I could build, assuming it was a fake. And did she like it? No sooner did the words leave my mouth when the smell of race fuel wafted by.
The sound and smell of this car drew me like a magnet. It was immediately apparent this car had patina and was real.
All I can add not positively answered here or else where on the webs is the red hose question. It is indeed a crankcase evacuation system. It is not an affectation but serves the real purpose of lowering crankcase pressure.
This car is no poseur or trailer queen, it got driven as intended.
It was a special treat to see it, rides were being offered for a charity. I was, as usual, short on cash that day
