That's the best Idea that I've heard yet. I'm with you, that's exactly what I'll do.

I have (maybe my terminology is wrong?) "kick panels" that cover the outside of the footwells from just in front of the door hinges to include the hinge, under the door itself and up the side of the cockpit along the seat area. I may have to take a pic of them.
