There's a lot of good advice here on our CC forum, but you might take a look on the GT40's forum, too...lots of those guys run Webers. There is a board for Induction and IIRC there was one member that put a lot of info regarding tuning the Webers on a disc, which he sells fairly reasonably...check the "stickies" on the induction forum or search for "tuning webers".

Good luck! We'd all love to be able to run Webers...there's just "that look" about them...and, of course, great performance when the system is all tuned correctly. I do know they are fairly sensitive to cam design and don't necessarily tolerate a cam with a lot of overlap. Perhaps that is the source of your fuel odor?
