Finally got back to working on the car. Made a new dash after ruining the original from FFR. The new dash is made from .060 6061 aluminum. It's padded in marine leatherette with 1/8" padding underneath. It was done by Conejo Upholstery in Thousand Oaks, CA
After cutting the piece to the correct dimensions and using the bottom lip from the FFR dash (my brake isn't wide enough to bend ), I fabricated angle brackets that are riveted and epoxied on the back of the panel. 1/4-20 bolts go thru the hoop and mount the dash to the hoop so the fasteners are hidden.
I had to make a patch panel for the steering column because the dash moved while drilling the hole, damaging it.
I took the panel to a local car upholstery shop since my first go at putting the padding on was a disaster.
I spent the day installing all the gauges, switches, and switch panel
