I have the VE canister in mine. I pulled it from the wreck.
The corrigated tube vents to fresh air, not the fill pipe, the way that corrigated pipe fits to the end holder is how it comes straight out of the car, no other attachements.

The purge tube goes to the evap solonoid mounted on the donk.

The tank tube goes to the highest point in the tank to collect fuel vapour pressure build up in the tank, not the filler pipe, otherwise it will suck petrol when your full, the tank should have a bulge to suit, or tank top should be higher than the fill pipe entry into the tank.
If its a custom tank with out the air trap, its not designed to use an evap system.

I have a G8/VE manual with all the guf, but not with me.
