I just saw this. After the 2nd one on the black car and another one on my blue car years ago, I finally caved in. No more glass. Ended up going with a lexan type version, and literally one day after I installed it a huge truck threw a giant rock dead center at my face. Put a little spec on it, and luckily no issues since. Dan and a few others have done the same. They are a tad wavey looking from the side, but more clear looking through. I use quick detailer on it with a microfibre towel to keep it clean and no scratches. Actually forgot about broken windshields. Sorry, not sure about local installers any more.
