I'm updating the status of trying to register my Everett-Morrison Cobra here in good old New York State. After making contact with the VIN Assignment Unit in Albany I prepared my package including application, fee and everything they requested associated with proving ownership. I sent the application on 11/15, I had discussed the application with "Amy" who seemed interested and helpful. I called today following up to find if my application was received, Amy has not been in all week and is scheduled to return this Monday. I had also sent request for registration the Technical Services Bureau also in Albany. Prior to mailing I had talked to a gentlemen in the Tech Service office advising me to send essentially the same information I had sent to Amy to his office. The information was sent on the 15. Today I followed up calling his office only to be advised by someone else I need to send everything to Amy to get the ball rolling. Amy in turn sets up the arrangements for the request for inspection and to expect 6 to 8 weeks before hearing anything. I asked if someone had received my mail in his department and was advised they will call me when they schedule me and cannot advise if my paperwork was received. This was a bit frustrating but I'm optimistic Amy will find everything in order when she receives my information.
I ordered several styles of rubber edge trim for my visors. I have located the purchase receipt showing the engine casting number from the shop that built the engine, they also provided the bill of sale from a scrap yard where the engine block was taken from a vehicle to be scrapped. The bill of sale clearly shows the VIN of the vehicle it was taken from, all of this was done in Florida.
In the mean time the weather has really gone south here in Syracuse. It's probably the best time to go thru this when I am unable to transport the vehicle on an uncovered trailer anyway.
More to follow as I make progress.
