I called the VIN assignment department in Albany today, they said they had received my VIN application and have set a date for my inspection. I also received a letter over the weekend from the Technical Services Bureau in response to my sending them the completed check list they requested. They said I will have to have a statement indicating the emission control devises are present on the vehicle and the vehicle must be equipped with all emission devises required for the application year of the engine. I have a 1994 351W in it. Several of you have said a "custom" car is exempt from emission requirements, where is this stated so I can refer to it in my argument? What defines a custom car?
I must also have a padded dash and padded visors, the flat face of the dash is padded, the top front rounded edge of the dash is not padded is this a problem? I have ordered 1/2" wide rubber edge trim to fit over the edge of the visors, do the top visors as well as the side visors have to be padded? Will the edge padding be satisfactory or does the entire visor have to be covered with padding?
Thanks,
Steve
