Assuming your 427 is at least stock, I'd try a Holley 4779 750 cfm double pumper. I have one on my 428 SCJ and it runs like a scalded dog, moderate cam and compression. Idles great, easy to tune, plugs look wonderful, looks vintage. Jegs and Summit both have the 0-4779C Classic at $505.
