"We're not responsible for damages that occur to your car while in our care" is unfortunately a growing CYA tactic that businesses are increasingly undertaking, so they won't be held legally accountable for the conduct of their employees when they take customer cars out on "test drives" -- MAJOR red flag. (especially if you pull in with a high performance car that the technicians immediately start drooling on.)
They might as well just post a sign on the wall that says "Our technicians are going to abuse your car, and
you are going to pay for it...."
