Hi Brian, Yeah I thought about the same thing. It has a pretty firm spring that locks the lever into an L slot but that would suck to have it pop open somehow so I ran a zip tie around the groove as extra insurance. That's what they recommend for off road trucks, etc where something might hit it too. I've only had the car since last October but it felt like 15yrs of running that drain bolt in and out of aluminum had its way with the threads so I drilled and retapped it for this drain.
