A question for the masses? So my initial setup on the Weber had a size 120 idle jet holder with 85 engraved on it so the assumption is it is a 85. The jet itself is a 70F10 so again my assumption is it is a size 70.
When running at a constant speed the car hesitates and jumps around with a rough run. If I put my foot in it slightly the car accelerates and the engine smooths out until I get to the next maintain speed and it starts the rough run again.
The higher the speed to maintain gets the less rough the hesitation at that speed but it is still there.
When adjusting the idle screws at initial adjustment at about 7/8 turn open I started closing them down and found no change till about 1/4 open then severe stumble. Upon opening them again at about 1 1/4 open or maybe a little more the engine idle smooths out and picks up speed a little. When all 8 are set this wat there is great throttle response.
Sounds like the idle is not getting enough fuel?
We put 95 idle holders in with the same 70 jets and the problem appears to be worse. Again more air less fuel the problem got worse right? I look on a few sites at idle jets and see a size 75 appeared to be the largest the one site had for a 48ida setup.
What do you guys with experience think as I am not a huge carberator guy but know enough to be dangerous?
Thanks
Kirk
