You may need to do some math on your calipers surface area. That old single piston caliper had a large diameter and because it slides you double it. Your new 4 piston calipers may have less total surface area. Which would actually call for a smaller bore master cylinder. But that size master cylinder sounds very small. Of course depends on so many variables, including pedal geometry. A master cylinder that small would work best with small diameter pistons in the calipers.
