Depends on what scale you need.
140C is 284F, so the second gauge gives more accurate readings at temps lower than 284F.
Can you see how that compares to your current gauge?
Gauge scale selection is all about running a scale about 10% higher than your expected maximum.
It's a bit like why we don't run a 15000 rpm tachometer on a stock bigblock.
Having said that, to keep the gauges the same etc, getting your current gauge repaired is certainly the first and best option.
