yep...old thread...butt, looks like it still an issue. I had the same issue...them cheap azz hydraulic/electric these switches failed on Fords back in the 60's, and are still failing today. Way to much heat under the hood for them to work for long, IMHO. changed mine to a mechanically operated switch of the brake pedal 10 years ago...and never had another problem.
