Default FOR SALE: AMCO luggage rack

For Sale: AMCO Luggage Rack for 289 and 427 Cobras

This AMCO chrome luggage rack is for a Porsche 356 and is the same period correct rack used on the 289 and 427 Cobras. (the 356 hardware is included in the sale)

This luggage rack is nearly perfect with very some minor hairline scratches and some slight tarnishing around the holes all of which can be polished out. There are no deep scratches, dents or bends.

There is no chrome pitting or rust/corrosion. NONE!

This luggage rack is near concours condition or certainly very high end car show quality and deserves to be on an original Cobra.

The chrome mounting hardware specific to the Cobra would have to be sourced by the buyer. The chrome hardware is available from your local ACE Hardware or on-line for less than $40.00. The hardware consists of:

Qty 4 – chrome carriage bolts 5/16” dia x length to suit application

Qty 4 – chrome spacers 5/16” ID x 5/8” OD x 1” long

The four chrome “feet” would have to be fabbed by the buyer using two chrome spacers 1” OD x 2” long. Cutting from each end (to yield four pieces) the chrome spacers would be cut to an approx. length of 7/16” with two “feet” having taper on one end of approx 7 deg and two “feet” having a taper of approx. 11 deg. These are approx. and should be checked to match the taper of your trunk lid.

Check Acton’s website for close up pics of the hardware and “feet” or I could supply a pic separately.

Qty 4 – rubber washers sized to suit.

This of course requires drilling your trunk lid. I have elected to use rubber suction cups and straps.

The selling price of this luggage rack is $450.00 plus $50.00 for shipping.
No international shipments. USA only.
Payment must be made by PayPal.

If you are interested you may PM me on the Cobra Club forum.

Thanks and cheers
