In four years of testing and abuse, I have yet to break one of these [SCAT] cast 4.250-inch cranks—at power levels exceeding 750 hp. Intuitively, this has to be approaching the design limits of the material, though, and an alternate should be considered at that power level. … and FWIW I put a SCAT in mine as well.
