Orientation of photos taken on phones and now some cameras is noted in the picture's metadata, so if you take it upside down or later edit/rotete it on the phone, it is not a true rotation of the pixels but only metadata instructions. In order to really rotate it you need to take the picture into some primitive photo editing tool. On Windows, the "default photo viewing" application (that what you get with a double click, will truly rotate the pixels. I'm not sure what photoshop does.
