My question is: has anyone actually used one and if so, what was your experience with it?
ENquiring minds want to know.
I have a composite gear in my 504 Kaase motor. It has lasted about 2,500 miles so far. Checked it a week or so ago and it had very little to no wear on it. Started out with a bronze gear because I didn't know what my cam was made of and it lasted about 1,000 miles before it wore and made me nervous. Called Comp cams and they of course recommended a bronze gear. Still don't know what my cam is made of as its a special Kaase grind and the part number doesn't have a number designation but I will probably call Kaase to find out and put the appropriate gear back on after a few more miles or when I get time.
