Default Subject: 2020 Run to the Sun (14th Annual) June 26th thru 28th, some the 29th

Hello Cobra Buddies,

For those of you paying attention, for obvious reason we skipped from the 12th Annual to the 14th Annual.

It is time to make your reservations, for the 2020 Run to The Sun! As in 2019, we will be staying at the Freestone Inn at Wilson Ranch (hereafter referred to as the “Inn”) in Mazama, WA, which is a few miles west of Winthrop, WA. If you want to join us you will need to make your reservations now, because the Inn is not a large hotel. I guess it would be classified as a boutique hotel.

We arrive at the Inn the afternoon of June 26th and depart on June 28th. Gloria and I will be staying an extra day and departing on the 29th, so you are welcome to join us for the extra day. The phone number for The Inn is (800) 639-3809. To check out the Inn on the web go to Freestone Inn :: Home.

We will be meeting for a wonderful breakfast the morning of Friday June 26th at 10:00 AM in the Silvana, WA area, at Stephen and Judy Crosten’s home. If you are planning on participating in the Run to the Sun, send me a private message with your email address and we will get you directions to that location.

After breakfast, we will depart from Silvana around 11:30 AM and head over Highway 20 to Mazama, WA and the Inn. Highway 20 is a fun drive, with plenty of opportunities to pass slower traffic. We usually make a stop for gas / comfort stop at Marblemount, WA. All that great coffee, during breakfast, will need to be relieved by the time we get to Marblemount.

Friday evening, we will meet at a restaurant on the Inn property for a few beverages of choice, swap lies and have dinner. After dinner we can adjourn to the patio or if it is cool outside move over to the gas fired fire pit for coffee, etc. and more conversation.

Saturday June 27th, after a group breakfast at the Inn, we will travel to a yet to be determined venue for lunch. Usually the drive is about 2 hours each way. The last 2 years we traveled to Republic, WA for lunch. We try and get back early enough so people can hit the spa, take nap, etc. In the evening, we will meet for dinner at the Inn’s Lakeside Dining Room at 7:30 PM. In 2017 the Inn’s Lakeside Dining Room received the “Diner’s Choice Award”.

On June 28th we will meet for breakfast and say our good-byes to those of you who are heading home. Those of us staying the extra day will be taking another drive, usually shorter than the drive on Saturday.
