I recently sold my CSX that was registered in Alabama (no title issued to cars older than 1975) to a gentlemen in Washington and because the Cobra was registered as a 1965 Shelby Cobra, it was assumed that there wouldn't be an problem titling the car as a 1965 Shelby Cobra. When the new owner applied for a Washington title, he was told that it wouldn't be titled as a 1965 but instead, it would be titled as a 2011 Shelby Cobra. He has also looked into establishing a LLC in other states (i.e. Montana or Alabama) so he could run the car with out of state tags but I think he'll have the same issue if he ever attempted to title it as a 1965 Shelby Cobra.


So....has anyone else titled their Continuation car as a 1965 Shelby in Washington? If not, other than establishing a LLC in Alabama or Montana, are there any other options available?
