You'll get a lot of opinions on this, of course. Keep in mind that it's a Windsor engine. There are millions of them around with millions of miles of whatever
oil is on sale at the moment.
Unless you're racing, use your favorite 5W-30 dino
oil and change it on schedule.
Pretty much any small block ford filter will work. Look for a short one, not the FL 1-A. IIRC, the small block Chrysler used the same filter. Check the cross reference book on that.
I like the Purolator Pro-1, but there are other good ones on the market. Avoid Fram.
A lot of people have installed remote filter mounts. And that may require a different filter altogether. I would guess that you have pictures of the engine bay. Look and see what filter is in place now.
