Flavour is spelled that way in U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand - perhaps other countries as well. Other spellings 'foreign' to Americans:
- centre
- colour
- metre
- cheque
- favour
- theatre
- catalogue
Even though Canadian spelling of these words aligns with British spelling, there are also examples where Canadian spelling differs from British
spelling, in words such as
realize and
recognize, which in British English are spelled
realise and
recognise; i.e. usually spelled with -ize rather than -ise.
