My Aviad pan came with dipstick and tube. The bottom of the tube connects to the pan tube with a short length of rubber tubing. I used fuel line.
The upper part of the tube has a bracket with a hole for one of the water pump bolts.
You fill the pan with 9 quarts of
oil and insert dipstick. Adjust the dipstick tube by rotating it slightly on the bracket which will pull the tube up or push it down in the rubber hose. Do this until the dipstick reads FULL.
Tighten the water pump bolt and two hose clamps on the rubber hose.
Add an extra quart of
oil, or whatever amount you need to allow for the
oil filter amount.

Oh... I don't remember if I had to cut the tube or not. I'll measure it and let you know.
