You need to remember that Cobras were race cars. With the exception of Ken Miles, race drivers tend to be small framed. The car was "the right size" for them. I thought it was uncomfortable for long periods. I asked Carroll about that. His answer was something like "I paid the drivers to drive, not to be comfortable".
That said, remember that you don't get in a Cobra (or a GT40), you wear it. Remember that an off the shelf suit simply won't fit everyone.
