And just so you guys know, we are talking about LH drive AND RH drive cars here, since the cars are all over the world.
So the theory is the battery should be placed on the passenger side, since any amount of weight that can be positioned to oppose the drivers weight will help to achieve neutral balance. It is also a safer option, since the battery is less likely to be involved in a vehicle accident if mounted away from the road centre line.
