I had a stainless pipe made to go the distance and just used rubber hoses to connect it to the water pump and lower radiator outlet. I even had a small bracket welded on so I could attach the hose to a mount so it didn't flop around.

This looks like an excellent option. I would not want a hose 3' long made of rubber only.
