Can happen to any carburettor if a piece of solid debris gets in to the jetting.

I seen grass, fuel line rubber, sand etc, and well as general fines that cheap fuel filters don't stop.

A bit harder to sort on the average Holley metering block, since the emulsion tubes are harder to remove than most carbs.
