Okiesnake-
Interesting article.I would be careful referencing any car that has been "refreshed" by AC. The car was converted to rt hand drive and has the tail lights of the AC mkIV cars( bigger and bezel-less)
It also is a strange mix of s/c and street. Bumpers, glovebox and undercar pipes but 427so and a rollbar.I f you ask me (no one is ) the car is a Connelly leather int. away from being a nice example of a AC mkIV.

It reminds me of another Classic and sc article a 3 way shootout btwn a sunbeam tiger a 289 and a gt 350. The sunbeam was the big winner 'cause it was affordable (and english!) the "replicas could never come close the the real 289 and they are garbage anyway. "
Meanwhile if you read the article closely you realized the 289 was rebodied as a 427 and resprung with the 427 coils. It wasn't really a good example of anything (except how to let your ego f-up a classic car)

I read the British car mags for entertainment not info. back in the 80s it seemed the bloated Jag XJ (or whatever that GT was called) won ever shoot out they had with 911s. It was always "while the porsche is a great car the Jags smooth ride and beautiful interior wins the day" Yeah right whatever...
