Yes sir, that’s what looking into now. I’ll was going try to sand them as smooth as possible then try to buff them out. I like your idea is better. It’s worth the effort.

What gear oil are most people using? Manual says Amsoil but on the BMW forums most owners with an E36 are using Redline. I bought Lucas Synthetic 75w-90. The auto parts store near me only a few brands so I went with Lucas. I do a search on the forum. I’m sure this question has been posted more than once
