I finally got to work on the front end of the Cobra, and the front shocks are not Koni but Carreras. Did some research on these particular type of shocks and found that they were not a very desirable piece of equipment. I looked up QA1 and emailed them the specs of what I need and they were able to recommend a replacement (TN404 adjustable and TS404 non), I also found out from the original owner-who also is the builder of several CCX-that the chassis on my car is a 1987 and the body is a 1996 (the 96 was the better more improved body). Working on the front end all the rubber bushings have to be changed (cracking and dried out), since the chassis sat around for 10 years before it was built with the 96 body the car didn't see the road until 97 and even after it finally saw the street it only had 2300 miles when I got it in 2017, so I understand like any old car things need to be changed. The car will be off the road for a couple of weeks-have most of the parts, just waiting for the QA1 shocks and the rebuild upper ball joint kit from SNG Barett (have the sealed lower ball joints, the replacement bushings and other hardware) when I get everything should be a fun filled weekend(colorful language included)
