"When your engine is running you will need one more quart of
oil to wet the inside of the engine. In addition to that you will have somewhere between a ½ quart and ¾ quart of
oil in suspension around the rotating assembly."
I recently installed an Aviaid pan that has a 6 quart capacity. Prior to installation I filled it with 6 quarts of water to confirm that the fluid is just at the baffle. Am I to understand that an additional quart of
oil is to be added to the stated capacity from the manufacturer to account for oil that is suspended in the engine when running, bringing the total capacity to 7 quarts?
