Went home and cut out a dog bone shaped piece of aluminum with reflectors at both ends that I could mount on the license plat screws. Just for inspection. I’ve since found a more hot rod friendly inspection station.
I do not believe they have reflectors. A little surprised the inspector wanted them. But, most inspectors were not alive back when such safety features were not around.

That goes back to my view that we have continued to design safer cars to compensate for stupid drivers. I watched a young lady today in a 5000lb + car tailgating about 15 ft from a small car at 80mph because, I am sure, she felt that if she needed to stop, all she had to do was hit the brakes and it would stop in time.
