This is an interesting thread.

I just called for insurance for my Hurricane Cobra I am just finishing building. I first got an online quote from Grundy. They quoted ~780 for the year, online estimate.

I called NCM, they ran my record and saw two small claims from the past couple years, both with payouts of about $2000. Both minor brushes with other cars in parking lots, but deemed my fault. They quoted me $11K for the year.

I called back Grundy, discussed the claims, and the rep called her underwriter, who said he had no issue with it, and the final quote from them was about $650.

The post is funny to me because after getting a 5 figure quote, anything in the 3 figures seems like a blessing.
